Curriculum
The National Curriculum in Key Stage 2 is made up of 10 subjects plus Religious Education. At the centre are the “core” subjects of English (Literacy), Mathematics (Numeracy) and Science. Information and Communications Technology ( ICT ) is now considered a “core” subject. The other six subjects are Design and Technology, History, Geography, Art and Design, Music and Physical Education. These are called the “foundation” subjects. The school also teaches a programme of PSHE – Personal, Social and Health Education, and is planning to include lessons on Citizenship in this area of the curriculum.
Programmes of Work are carefully planned for each half term and checked by the Head or Deputy Head Teacher. In addition teachers produce detailed plans of work for each week which are also reviewed by the Head Teacher or Deputy Headteacher.
